A journey of dealing with dark moments and healing oneself through dance, finding joy in movement and using this to carve out space for others to feel the same.
Hi I'm Krutika and today's conversation is with Nina.
Born in Mayotte, a small French island situated in the Indian ocean, Nina's love for dance began when she was just 5 years old. Fast forward to today and she's turned her passion into a thriving dance business. She's a qualified Zumba teacher and a choreographer and trust me when I say her classes are a real work out!
But behind the moves is a story of real resilience.
In 2012, after her daughter was born with special needs, Nina found herself in a very dark place - lost, overwhelmed, and blaming herself for something she had no control over. But then came a powerful turning point: a moment of connection with her daughter that led her to rethink her life and heal herself with dance.
Nina's journey is a reminder in the power we all have to turn our pain into purpose, and like Nina we may all be able to find a way to dance out of the darkness!
